10 years studio bleikloetzle

1999-2009

Friday 23 October 2009

Hohenstaufen is the mountain you can be seen from the studio’s windows. This is the typical autumn scenery.

Ursula Groh lights the candles on her barrel organ - the show will be starting soon!

Waechenbeuren’s mayor Karl Vesenmaier is listening to the street ballad - the flowers he brought for the anniversary are as colourful as the pumpkins and the new artist’s books.

After the street ballad with its happy ending, Annette told some interesting aspects on street ballads and how they developed from the sung newspaper they used to be.

Ursula Groh playing and singing the street ballad accompanied by her barrel organ.

We send a “Get well soon” to poor Sigi Lewandowski. He wanted to be with us tonight, telling stories and reading from his books. But he fell and badly hurt his leg so doctors told him to stay in bed and recover. How boring - but such is life from time to time.

So our guests heard from little Niak and about the frog who was mistaken by a wrong bride  - read out by author Annette C. Dißlin.

Sunday 25 October 2009

Many a guest took the opportunity to have his or her try on the proofing press printig the street ballad poster.

“Soul-to-Swing” sang the street ballad as a strictly vocal version.
And we are sure: Author Eduard Moerike would have been surprised about the potential his story of Beautiful Lau showed centuries after he had written it down.

And of course there was plenty of delicious food, such as pumpkin soup and one cake for each of the 10 years.

We were happy that we could welcome even one four legged guest - who was very fine mannered. We still remember only too well the wonderful company our old lady was, who had to leave us in 2006.

One cake for every year, that makes 10: we had parsnik cake, lime sponge, marmalade cake, and  Scottish Parkin ...

Many many thanks to everybody who helped!
To Ursula Groh who came with her barrel organ and sang the street ballad to us,
to “Soul-to-Swing”, who arranged the song for being performed by 8 voices and gave us a wonderful show - including a couple of classics from their repertoire.
To Sigi who couldn’t come in the end but who was with us in his thoughts - we are convinced.
And to my husband who inspite of a rather mean cold & cough kept taking fotos of the whole scene.

Special thanks go to Monika and Thomas who served soup and cake and coffee to our guests and took good care that everybody was happy.

One more Thank You goes to Denny, who took many fascinating shots of the feast - some of them you find here.

Last but not least:

No feast without guests:

Thanks to everybody who made their way, no matter how far it was, to be with us during these three day, or who, even brought a little present like colleague Felix Riedel who had written a street ballad praising bleikloetzles birthday and sung it and afterwords wrote it down in our guest book.

From now it is bleikloetzle’s second decade.
